THE
KINEMATIC
STORY
The Kinematic Story began in 2015 when The University of Alabama’s football program had a desire to provide privacy for their players undergoing evaluations on the sidelines of their games. The resulting collaboration with The College of Engineering created the very first SidelinER®.
Though our story started with a single tent, our company and purpose has grown into so much more. The Kinematic Company has evolved to provide Innovation that Moves to industry professionals from the sidelines to the frontlines.

Our story begins with University of Alabama Head Athletic Trainer Jeff Allen taking his idea for a medical tent to the College of Engineering's Dean Charles Karr. With increasing media coverage, sports sidelines had become a
zero-privacy zone. Allen, on behalf of the Athletic Department, requested a privacy tent be created specifically for the football program.

July 5, 2015
Just nine days after the initial request, College of Engineering students, Patrick Powell and Jared Cassity, complete the first tent prototype using bed sheets and PVC pipe in Patrick's garage. From hand sketches to a SolidWorks 3D CAD rendering to a full-scale model, our tent was coming to life.
July 20, 2015
Not even one month after beginning the journey, Allen, Powell, and Cassity take to the field of Bryant-Denny Stadium to test sizing and function of an updated prototype frame.

September 10, 2015
After rigorous designing and testing, the final prototype is delivered to the University of Alabama Athletic Department, ready for use.
September 12, 2015
The University of Alabama's first ever medical privacy tent makes its debut in the Alabama v Middle Tennessee game. Athletic staff and trainers across the nation immediately took notice.

October 11, 2015
ESPN Sideline Reporter Holly Rowe is filmed standing outside the tent. She is prevented from disclosing Reggie Ragland's injury, fully demonstrating the value of the privacy tent.
January 6, 2016
USA Today Sports features "Alabama's medical tent" in an online article and on the cover of their national daily paper - five days before the College Football National Championship game in which Alabama was slated to play.
